A full-body massage usually includes your arms, legs, hands and feet, your neck and back, your stomach and buttocks. The area around the breasts is usually massaged but not the breasts themselves.
Once you are shown to your room, the therapist will leave to allow you to undress and get comfortable under the covers/towel on the massage table.
You do not need to be completely undressed for a massage, it’s completely up to you what you want to wear; undress to your level of comfort.
It is most common for clients to completely undress for their massage, especially if it is a full body massage, where the therapist will be working with oil across your whole body.
Some people prefer to keep their underwear on during the treatment, which is also totally fine. If you’re wearing a bra, it would probably be beneficial to remove this so the therapist can work on your back properly. You will always be sufficiently covered with a sheet or large towel at all times for your comfort. We are professional and we will work with the cover so that you never feel exposed at all during the treatment.
Even with a full-body massage, most of you stays covered most of the time. Your therapist will unwrap your arm and shoulder, for instance, or uncover your leg while she massages that part of your body. When she needs you to turn over, she will hold the towel up as a screen so you can turn over in private.
If you have time, have a quick shower before you arrive. Taking a shower can be a good idea before your massage, as it rinses off any perspiration or pollutants before your treatment.
In order to prepare for a massage, is important to stay hydrated before and after your massage appointment. Stressed muscles lead to inflammation and toxin build-up that can block essential nutrients and oxygen from getting to where they need to go. This is what leads to pain and stress. When you get a massage, the toxins break up and release as the muscles loosen. If you drink plenty of water, those toxins will then flush out of your system. Remember to make sure you have been to the loo before you go in for your massage so you are not uncomfortable.
Don’t go for a massage on a full stomach.
There’s nothing wrong with eating before a massage, but remember as you will be lying on your stomach it may be more comfortable not to have had a large meal just beforehand.
It is very natural to experience bruising especially after a deep tissue massage. This type of massage focuses on the muscular and deeper layer tissues. Compared to other kind of massage, the pressure in this one is often higher. This happens for most people 2 to 3 days post the therapy. Bruising after a massage is similar to the discomfort that occurs when you begin exercising again and significantly overdo it. After a while, the muscles improve. You’ll feel more relaxed, energised, and renewed. There is no treatment or cure for bruises generated by massage other than cold compresses and medications.
It is essential to communicate openly with your massage therapist about your comfort level, pain tolerance, and any concerns you may have. If you consistently experience excessive or severe bruising, it's advisable to discuss it with your massage therapist and, if necessary, consult with a healthcare professional to ensure there are no underlying issues.
